HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO SPORTS? IF SO WHAT DID YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU HAVE DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?
I’ve always been active!! Started with basketball to collegiate basketball. Ran track but hated it. And I rodeo’ed and rode horses ever since I was a little girl. Fitness included outdoor running and stationary machines until I was introduced to CF. (right: first 5K to win pushing kids)
BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?
I actually WON First in a RX comp in 2014 @ the Ronnie Coleman CF comp in mesquite. It was incredible so scared and completely out of my comfort zone. (left: 1st Rx comp to win)
CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?
Goals are continue to inspire others to try Cf and not be scared to try something new. Yes it’s intimidating but the athletes and coaches make it totally worth it.
Favorite would be getting my first pull-up. My ultimate goal when I started CF was to get a stinking pull-up, 2013. Upper Body strength has always been a struggle and I will never forget the day I got my first pull-up. Downhill from there, then 4 years later butterfly pull-ups. I think they’re so beautiful and was envious of all the athletes who could effortlessly do them. (right: first ever CF comp)
FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
Duh…… campuzano!!! Love Mexican food & margaritas.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED
TO TRY CROSS FIT?
Just give it one week!! One solid week…. it’s truly a test of all physical components. It amazes me to see rookie athletes shine in certain wods that experienced CF’ers struggle. Such a good balance of strength, gymnastics and endurance. (right: gotta have fun during Murph)
My favorite thing about CrossFit are the Friendships and encouraging environment. I’ve meet and competed with some amazing athletes and so thankful to God to have this skill and ability to do what I love. Most important thing to CrossFit: HAVE FUN!!
