WHAT DID YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU HAVE DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?
I never played sports. The first type of workout I ever did, at the age of 18, was kickboxing and I’ve done boot camp, zumba, bodypump, piyo, and thousands of miles of running. I never heard of Crossfit before September of 2014 when my sister,Vicky, got me hooked! I’ve participated in all kinds of 5Ks, the Savage Race, my first CF comp, the Rookie Rumble, CF Open, and The Mud Run with my friend Kineta!
BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?
Finally getting to RX some of the workouts!
CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?
I’d like to be able to string more reps at a time for different skills.
Favorite Pasttime?
Crossfit!! I love working out, being in such an encouraging environment with such amazing people. I also love spending time laughing with my husband and children.
FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
Ummmm….I don’t like cheat meals, but if I have to choose one, well maybe anything that comes with a side of fries. I love fries!! Or Bread? Or Pizza? Now, I’m hungry.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY CROSS FIT?
I always tell people that it’s scarier than it looks. Crossfit is for everyone. I love how it doesn’t matter your age, height, weight, or fitness level. The coaches at Buffalo Creek Crossfit meet you right where you are and show you how to be successful at all of the movements and skills at your own level. The coaches also do a great job of watching everyone to make sure their form is correct to prevent injury. You’re not alone in this journey. Everyone is encouraging so I never feel bad that I don’t lift as heavy as someone else or move as fast as them. I just get excited that I’m stronger today than I was yesterday.
