Athlete Highlight: Kaycie Bird

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO SPORTS? IF SO WHAT DID

 YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU HAVE DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?

Yes, I started playing volleyball when I was eight and played all throughout high school and then got a scholarship to play at Dallas Baptist University, where I played for 5 years. I love sports and pretty much anything super competitive or athletic!

BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?

 

Making the board on Annie and the 5k run 🙂 oh and probably handstand push-ups!

 

CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?

Be able to string more than three pull-ups together…and eventually a muscle-up
 

 Favorite Pastime?

Watching movies or playing games with my family and working out

FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

 

Pizza, anything chocolate, froyo

 

 

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY CROSSFIT?

I was so against CrossFit for so long to be honest haha but after trying it, there is just nothing like it. Even being an athlete my whole life, I have never felt more confident in myself or as strong and fit as I do right now. The community aspect is great and it really can be modified for anyone. If you work hard and stay consistent, you really see results and even though the workouts are tough they are fun and being apart of that community and seeing the results makes it worth it! It really is for everyone no matter the age, weight, body type, or athletic background. I would say to just jump in and I promise you will find yourself addicted within the first couple of weeks!
