HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO SPORTS? IF SO WHAT DID YOU PLAY. EVENTS YOU DONE. FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?

Is drinking a sport? LOL. I really enjoy watching sports. Growing up, I never played any sports. I wanted too, but my parents did not have time. My first experience with fitness was in my 20’s when I started doing boot camps, 5K’s and weight lifting classes. When my trainer moved to start Camp Gladiator, I moved with her. I did Camp Gladiator during the spring, summer and fall. I don’t do winter. Camp Gladiator is an outdoor fitness and it’s rain or shine. During my first pregnancy I stayed active and after giving birth I set up a goal to run my first half. I ran my first half at the age of 27 in the Big D race April 2010. During pregnancy number two I became a couch potato. I tried to set goals to run and get back into working out but just couldn’t. Then I went back to Camp Gladiator in the spring of 2013 and got back into shape and moving. I left Camp Gladiator in September of 2013 and went back to being non active. Then my friend Lynaee asked me to try Crossfit and said I would love it! In December of 2013 I met Kelly and fell in love with crossfit. Changed my eating habits slowly and love the changes that are happening with this 33 year old body. I do crossfit year round and this December will be two years since I started.

BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?

All of it! I never ever would have imagined me doing CrossFit in my 30’s and lifting. I still feel that I have a lot more to accomplish.

CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?

Really I have so many goals and I never want to get comfortable.

FAVORITE PAST TIME?

Spending time with my family and my CrossFit family. I love a good time filled with laughs. I love the hill country and I’m always looking for an excuse to go.

FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

I love food! I have so many cheat meals tamales, enchiladas, tortillas, rice, arroz con pollo especially if my momma or aunts are cooking it!!! Let’s not get into snacks.

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY CROSSFIT?

What I tell all my friends…. you will either love it or hate it! Try it for a month and if you don’t see it’s a fit you can at least say you tried. At BCCF, we have some amazing coaches. They coach form before even letting you attend a regular CrossFit class. Kelly, who is also a  Dietitian, will help you get your eating on track. The coaches take time coaching you on every exercise/lift and let you know when you are ready to increase weight. I would tell someone that they will fall in love with the people at BCCF. Everyone is so encouraging and is always cheering you on. It will become your second home.
