Athlete Highlight: Allison Morrow

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO SPORTS? IF SO WHAT DID YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?

I love sports! I played tennis in middle school and high school, but love playing and watching  all sports.  I’m very competitive and will turn anything into a competition, especially with my husband. I have completed 2 5k mud runs and 1 5k color run. I have had a gym membership since I was 16. I love working out and breaking a sweat.

BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?

My biggest crossfit accomplishment is a pull-up. From the very first time I tried crossfit , i have wanted to get a pull up. I started BCCF in July 2015 with jumping and banded pull-ups, and can now string 3-4 together! I was so excited to finally get them!!

CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?

I have many crossfit goals. Biggest goal is by the end of the year I want to do a ring muscle up. I would like to increase my weights on all the different lifts as well. It feels so good to go lift at the end of a stressful day!

FAVORITE PAST TIME?

I have an 8 month old, 3 year old and soon to be 5 year old! They keep me so busy. It’s all about them right now and what they need. When they finally go to bed at night, I love to get in bed and catch up on all my recorded shows.

FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

I could eat Mexican food for just about every meal, I love it. But I have the biggest sweet tooth! If I’m stressed I want chocolate. If I’m happy I want chocolate. Basically if I’m awake,  I want chocolate! I had to stop buying it because working from home makes it very easy to sit at my desk and eat all day. The kitchen is too close to my office!!

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY CROSS FIT?

Don’t be afraid. Crossfit is one of the best workout s I have ever tried and I feel like I’ve tried every group class , gym and dvd out there. Crossfit has the biggest sense of community. I have made some of the best friends just by showing up everyday for a workout. Other members will push you when your mind is telling you you can’t do anymore reps, someone is always there to push you along and cheer you on!
