HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN
INTO SPORTS?
IF SO
WHAT DID YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU HAVE DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?

Yes I have always been into sports since I was little.  I started playing soccer when I was 4 and didn’t look back for a long time.  I played Baseball but was never crazy about it, then I found football when I was in Junior High.  I was skinny and small and never very good until High school, and all the while I continued playing soccer at a very competitive level on select clubs in the Dallas area.  Summer after my Sophomore year I blossomed.  I grew from 5’10” to 6’2″ and went from about 155lbs to 185lbs.  I started playing tight end and was switched to offensive tackle my senior year because we ran the wishbone offense.  I also was the deep snapper for punts and field goals.  I went to Trinity University to play football my freshman year where we went to NCAA Div 3 national championship game and lost.  I thought that was the best shape I would ever be in until I found Crossfit 16 years later.

BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?

My biggest Crossfit accomplishment is hard to say, every single thing I have worked towards and accomplished has been a great step for me.  Obviously Muscle Ups were a great one but I would have to say competing in the Open each year (’15, ’16, ’17) and doing better each year than the last would be my biggest accomplishment.

CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?

Many many goals…….200# snatch, 15 unbroken muscle ups, and 100 unbroken double unders

 Favorite Pastime?

Obviously I spend a lot of my free time at the Box but other than that I love golf, Hunting and fishing and spending time with Jodi and my family

FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

Little Ceasars $5 hot and ready with buttery garlic sauce, duh.

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY CROSSFIT?

I was scared at first too.  I thought Crossfit was insane.  Watching these people go through this amount of torture was completely foreign to me.  I tried Crossfit at a point when everything else in my life was changing too, so why couldn’t I change how I approached fitness and try something new.  Its never going to be harder than walking in the first time.  Once you take that step and try it for the first time its like a drug, you want to come back and do it again and again.  You become like a family with everyone in your box.  You suffer together and you celebrate together.  Its unlike anything else ive ever been a part of.

TRY OUT CrossFit just like Nate did and you won’t regret it. Click here to get started.
