Athlete Highlight: Don Milligan

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO SPORTS? IF SO WHAT DID YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU HAVE DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?

I’ve never really been a sports person. I was skinny kid in high school. I was in band and played church league softball. I started lifting weights after I got out of college and got into law enforcement.

BIGGEST CF ACCOMPLISHMENT?

 

My biggest Crossfit accomplishment I guess is more Crossfit related. At work we have to a yearly physical assessment test that includes a mile and a half run. This year I ran it in 16 min and ran the whole time. I’m not a runner and forty eight years old (at thirty eight I ran/walked it in 34 min) ….that was my best time ever and I attribute it to Crossfit.

 

CF GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?

Pull-ups!

 Favorite Pastime?

I like to cook and not being a Texas native, like to go out with my wife and find new places to eat and explore.
 
 

FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

 

Pizza, key lime pie, and beer.

 

 

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY CROSSFIT?

Quit putting it off and making excuses…just get started. Be realistic with your goals and get in the gym as much as you can. Don’t forget to eat and the rest will fall into place.
