HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO SPORTS? IF SO WHAT
DID(DO) YOU PLAY, EVENTS YOU DONE, FITNESS ROUTINES YOU HAVE TRIED?
I started cross country running on my school team in 6th grade. I’ve been running off and on ever since. I also played soccer in high school and intramural in college, ran track, and was on my high school cross country ski team. I got into competitive triathlon racing about 3 ½ years ago
BIGGEST BC ENDURANCE ACCOMPLISHMENT?
I’ve never lifted heavy weights before so every week is a new PR for me. Everything that BCE offers has made a stronger, faster, fitter, more competitive athlete. This year I placed 3rd in my age group for a half distance triathlon. I think the strength I gained with BCE played a pivotal role in that. I also went the ENTIRE race season without a single injury, which is unheard of for me.
BC ENDURANCE GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?
I will continue with BCE, continue to improve and maybe next year I’ll win my age group! 😀
FAVORITE PAST TIME?
I’m an adventurer at heart. I love hiking, camping, traveling, trying new foods, and hanging with my amazing friends who challenge me and keep me on my toes but also keep me grounded.
FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
Oh man… This is the area I struggle with most. My achilles heel is junk food. There’s no specific meal that I love. I don’t eat much pasta or heavy carb loaded meals. My meals are usually pretty simple, just proteins and veggies. But man, put a cookie in front of me, or ice cream, or a pie… game on!
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS SCARED TO TRY BC ENDURANCE TRAINING?
BCE is a GREAT place to start for the beginner and a great place to be if you’re an experienced athlete looking to improve. We usually do lower reps than regular crossfit and incorporate regular cardio and explosive movements that make you stronger and faster, and it is a GREAT workout. As endurance athletes, our goal is not to get bulky, but we do get stronger, leaner, faster, and fitter, as I said before. All of the members/athletes in BCE are great. So supportive and encouraging. We want you to meet your goals, no matter what they are. No one is going to yell at you or judge you. We have ALL been new at one point or another and we know just how important it is to start slow and build up methodically so that you stay injury free which is realy all of our goals right?
